As Director of Design, Shawn oversees integrating life insurance strategies with our client’s tax, investment and estate plans. He leverages his experience as a CPA and graduate of the Tax LLM Program at the University of Denver, Strum College of Law, to help affluent families minimize tax through wealth transfer, executive benefit and business succession planning. As a registered representative of M Financial, Shawn also assists clients who are qualified purchasers restructure their hedge fund investments into private placement life insurance. He holds the series 7 and 66 securities licenses and has experience as an investment advisor at a national brokerage firm.

Shawn graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Bucknell University, where he was a starter on the Division 1-AA football team. He currently serves on the board of Trustees of the YMCA of Metro Denver and volunteers as a Cub Scout den leader. He speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys the outdoors with his wife, son and two daughters. Although he holds an active CPA license in the state of Colorado, he does not act in the capacity of a public accountant nor give tax or legal advice to clients of The Madison Group, Inc.

His responsibilities as Director of Design include managing the design department and overseeing work with clients, advisors and carriers. Shawn seeks to build new relationships with other advisors to affluent families including tax and estate planning attorneys, fiduciaries and family offices.
